The first drive

Eventually the call came through. The car was ready for a test drive. I was like a kid receiving a new toy. I rushed through to the dealership and there she was in the driveway. I strapped myself in and then slowly eased her into the road. The SMG gearbox was new to me. I had heard and read about it but this was the first time I was actually handling it myself. Near the dealership is a highway and I quickly got onto it. Before long I was zooming through the gears, eating up the kilometres. I did not want to turn around but eventually did. Taking the offramp and gearing down I heard the automatic blipping of the throttle for the first time. It was awsome ! On the way back I took it easy, switching between paddle shift and the lever, getting familiar with the different settings. When I got back to the dealership it was a case of 'I'll take it....where do I sign ?' The paperwork was then done and I collected the car the following Friday.
